Labor Day 2026: Honoring the Workers Who Built America
Labor Day is much more than a day off.
It is a national tribute to the working people who built America, strengthened its communities, and fought for safer workplaces, fair wages, reasonable hours, and a voice on the job. It is also a celebration of today’s union members—the people who keep our country moving every day.
Stronger Together: Suicide Prevention Month
The labor movement was built on a powerful promise: together, we can face what no worker should have to face alone.
We can remember those we have lost with compassion. We can stand beside families carrying grief. We can honor people with lived experience. We can make room for honest conversations on jobsites, in union halls, and around kitchen tables.
Most importantly, we can remind one another that asking for help is an act of courage—and that hope can begin with one conversation.
In the trades, we watch each other’s backs. That commitment can save a life.
A September of Solidarity, Remembrance, and Renewal
That spirit of service carries special significance this September as America marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
We remember, with deep sorrow and gratitude, every person whose life was taken that day. We honor the families who have carried their loss for 25 years and the survivors who continue to live with the physical and emotional consequences of the attacks.
We also remember the thousands of workers who answered the call.
